The 2010 AgSafe Conference

AgSafe will be hosting its 16th Annual Conference February 23-26, 2010 at the Hyatt Regency in Monterey, CA. The event is the premier health, safety and human resources educational program focused solely on California’s agricultural industry. Over 100 sessions will be offered, one-third of which will be in Spanish, addressing the myriad of issues impacting all segments of agriculture.

Tim East, Director of Risk Management for the Walt Disney Company, will kick off the event as the Keynote Speaker on Wednesday, February 24, 2010, addressing the safety, human resources and workers’ compensation issues he tackles at the Happiest Place of Earth.

Thursday, February 25, 2010 will start with a State of the Industry address from California Department of Food and Agriculture Secretary A.G. Kawamura and California Department of Pesticide Regulation Director Mary-Ann Warmerdam.

The conference also features additional benefits, including:

Farm Labor Contractor hours in both English and Spanish will be available through the California Division of Labor Standards and Enforcement and the California Department of Pesticide Regulation continuing education units will be offered for Pest Control Advisors. Extended Train-the-Trainer sessions will be offered as preconference workshops for both Pesticide Handlers and Fieldworkers. The California Safety Certificate Program, which provides the essentials for developing, establishing and maintaining a safety program for agricultural operations, will be offered as a special track held through the duration of the conference.  This highly regarded safety training program has over 500 graduates and will be offered in both Spanish and English.

AgSafe is also proud to offer a number of special events which will be held throughout the program including a Central Coast Farm Tour, the Third Annual Golf Tournament, exhibitor trade show, silent and live auction, a Wednesday evening networking reception, and Thursday night dinner and awards program for California Safety Certificate Program Graduates.
